After the Slam Dunk Contest, Jaylen Brown of the Celtics responds to critics.

Big-name players’ participation in the NBA Slam Dunk Contest has decreased recently. By participating this year, Jaylen Brown aimed to bring the competition back to life and offered his thoughts on the criticism that surfaced after it concluded.

Brown finished behind Mac McClung, the current champion, on Saturday night to take second place in the Slam Dunk Contest. He offered an original viewpoint on the reasons why participants would be hesitant to enter the competition.

In the end, I believe that some athletes in this internet age are just scared of becoming a meme or anything similar,” Brown remarked. “I came out and enjoyed myself, and that’s what I wanted to do.”

There were differing views regarding Brown’s involvement even though he lost to McClung in the championship game, particularly because some of his dunks were not very intricate. In addition, one of his dunks was not shown live due to a technical error on TNT’s part.

In the dunk competition, Brown was able to honor Terrence Clark, who passed away in a vehicle accident in 2021. Brown put on Clarke’s Brewster Academy jersey prior to one of his dunks.

Brown remarked, “Terrence was like my little bro.” Unquestionably connected to Boston. I desired

One major factor reducing the excitement of the Slam Dunk Contest is the absence of several high-profile athletes due to fear of injury. In addition, he mentioned that the LED court “was a little slippery” and that it stopped him from executing some of the dunks he wanted to.

To excite spectators for the first time in six years and restore star quality to the Dunk Contest, Brown, however, waved away these worries.
