The majority of Bucs supporters: believe that Todd Bowles should be replaced by someone else.
Greetings and welcome to SB Nation Reacts, an NFL fan survey. We pose questions to the nation’s most engaged Tampa Bay Buccaneers supporters all year long. To take part, register here.
Despite having a 4-7 record, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are only one game behind the NFC South leaders. But the Buccaneers supporters have had enough of the poor coaching that has been evident during the regular season.
76% of Bucs supporters said the organization should think about firing head coach Todd Bowles before to Sunday’s Week 12 loss to the Colts.
You have to believe that figure has increased.
Tampa Bay is setting itself up for a high draft pick and a new coaching staff after getting out to a 3-1 start and being ranked first by numerous power rankings. Of course, coaches and players work together, but we’ve also witnessed subpar performance on the field. Bowles hasn’t, however, equipped this club to triumph every single week.
Bowles abandons his defensive strategy when it isn’t working, plays too conservatively or with the intention of winning, doesn’t want to “waste” challenges (just look at Mike Evans’s first-down reception in Indianapolis), is outcoached in the closing minutes of games, etc.
With every defeat, it seems, the list of shortcomings gets longer. and just defeating groups they’re “expected” to
Todd Bowles: Liam Cohen Will Lead the Bucs’ Offense on February 3, 2024
Todd Bowles is the Bucs coach.
Thus, the announcement was made official early this afternoon. The announcement that the Bucs had signed Kentucky offensive coordinator Liam Coen to lead the team’s offense was released by the team’s PR department.
Bucs coach Todd Bowles spoke briefly about his new appointment in the announcement.
According to Bowles, Liam “stood out throughout the selection process for his innovative offensive mind, exceptional coaching skills, and the remarkable impact he’s had at every level of his career.”
“We think his strategy and vision for the game will be a huge complement to our group, and we’re excited about the enthusiasm and knowledge he brings to
Baker Mayfield of the Bucs NFL Fans Blame HC for Losing to Josh Allen and the Bills Todd Bowles
For Todd Bowles, Thursday night was hardly his best performance.
In the team’s 24-18 loss against the Buffalo Bills, the head coach of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers made a series of dubious choices that tarnished an otherwise tenacious effort by his underdog squad.
At the end of the first half, there was the odd choice to punt after attempting to pull the Bills offside from the field-goal formation. Or a late-game 17-play, 92-yard touchdown drive that took seven minutes and 21 seconds, squandering time when the Bucs needed to exert more pressure. The team was behind by two scores.
Josh Allen was under pressure from the Bucs when it bit them. Mike Evans ended with three receptions for 39 yards and a touchdown on six targets, but he was very ineffective for the most of the game. He only had one reception for seven yards until scoring a touchdown late in the fourth quarter.
To put it another way, it was a strange game from Tampa Bay, and both NFL fans and pundits took offense at Bowles:
It’s important to remember that the Buccaneers gained something from this game.
Finishing 25 of 42 for 237 yards, two touchdowns, and no turnovers, Baker Mayfield had a strong day. The defense gave up 427 yards of offense for extended periods of time, but they also made key stops in the fourth quarter to give the offense one more chance to win, as well as one goal-line turnover on downs and an interception.
The Bucs battled valiantly against a more formidable foe while traveling. The game offers a lot of foundation for improvement.
Of course, moral triumphs have little bearing in the NFL, as Tampa is currently 3-4 on the year and second in the NFC South behind the 4-3 Atlanta Falcons. Maybe
