Despite the Lakers’ dismal start, LeBron James advises patience, saying, “We don’t have our group yet.”
Last season, the Lakers made it to the Western Conference Finals.

Superstar LeBron James thinks the Los Angeles Lakers are only a work in progress, despite the fact that some predicted the squad would challenge for a title this season.

The Lakers’ ninth loss of the season came on Friday against the Oklahoma City Thunder. The club fell to the Philadelphia 76ers by 44 points earlier in the week, handing James his biggest NBA loss to date.

James cited the team’s recent run of injuries as one of the causes of the disappointing defeat that occurred last time out after the game. The four-time NBA champion, however, also commended the group for its capacity to triumph over misfortune despite the difficulties it is currently facing.

“You could start seeing the [three games in four nights], the back-to-back, the bodies that we don’t have start to wear on us, especially vs. a young team like OKC.”

“I’m not sure what we are. How? Our group hasn’t formed yet. I am aware of who some of us are on an individual basis, but as a team, we don’t yet have a group. We haven’t spent enough time together as a group to know that we have a solid rhythm, a starting group, and the men coming in. We’ve never had our same bunch and we’re over.500 with an 11-9 record. That is quite remarkable.

In the game on Thursday, Cam Reddish, Jaxson Hayes, Jarred Vanderbilt, Rui Hachimura, and Gabe Vincent did not participate.

Three-point shooting is a crucial area that the Lakers must develop if they are to compete with teams like the reigning champion Denver Nuggets. Los Angeles has the lowest three-point accuracy percentage in the NBA at 29.7%.

During the last stretch of the previous season, the Lakers were able to make enough personnel changes and adjustments to qualify for the Western Conference Finals. The Lakers have a good amount of time to get back on track because the regular season still has over 75% left.
