A police investigation into claims that defensive player Perrion Winfrey threatened a woman, chased her out of a hotel with a gun, and left bruises on her neck has led the Cleveland Browns to dismiss Winfrey.
On Tuesday night, a woman said Winfrey, 22, pursued her and a friend out of a hotel, flashed a pistol at them, and took their phones in video that surfaced on social media.
‘This is what you stand for @ClevelandBrowns?!?!’ the lady captioned a photo of herself with a big bruise on her neck.

One of the ladies said in the police report that they saw Winfrey with a companion when they were inside the hotel lobby.
According to the article, Winfrey can be heard saying, “I’ll smack the s*** outta you” and “you know I got it on me” during the altercation on her phone recording.
Then, the sufferer says With a sudden rush, Winfrey grabbed her by the left side of her neck with his arm, yanking the phones out of her grasp. According to her, Winfrey pulled up his shirt during the encounter, revealing his gun in his belt.
Before the police came, Winfrey departed the area, and the situation is currently being looked into.
The Clevland Browns, who selected the 22-year-old defensive tackle in the fourth round of last year’s draft, announced his release on Wednesday morning.
“DT Perion Winfrey has been waived by the Cleveland Browns,” the team said in a statement on Wednesday. “Winfrey made 13 appearances in 13 games as a rookie last season, totaling 22 tackles and 0.5 sacks.”
Mail Sport has confirmation from Cleveland Police that Winfrey is under suspicion in connection with an aggravated robbery case. The Browns have also been approached by Mail Sport for a statement.
After completing a pretrial diversion program, Winfrey had a minor assault allegation against him dismissed in Texas this month.
The 22-year-old was taken into custody in April following an alleged altercation in which he intentionally inflicted “bodily injury” to a lady he was seeing.
