March Madness report: Tennessee women’s and men’s basketball teams’ standings
As SEC play continues for the Vols and Lady Vols, bracketology predictions are beginning to take shape.
No. 5 With a 4-1 record in SEC play, Tennessee men’s basketball has an overall record of 14-4. Tennessee women’s basketball is still unranked, with an overall record of 12-6 and a 5-1 record in SEC play.
Here are the current bracketology projections for the Vols and Lady Vols.
Vols
Joe Lunardi of ESPN projects Tennessee men’s basketball as the No. 2 seed as of January 24. As a result, the Vols will play No. 15 seed Saint Peter’s in Charlotte in the opening round.
The victor of Michigan State and New Mexico State will face the Vols in the following round of this tournament; it should be a favorable matchup even.
The Lady Vols will play Ole Miss, who is ranked eighth right now, on Sunday. The Lady Vols’ aspirations of qualifying for the tournament and the Rebels’ seeding will both depend on the outcome of this game.
