The Detroit Lions are one victory away from making their first-ever Super Bowl appearance, and their incredible season just keeps getting better and better. Let’s talk more about their win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, which gave them their second playoff victory of 2024, before we get ahead of ourselves.
Although it seemed like the Lions were the superior team and might have won the game at any point, it was a really close game, and the Bucs deserve praise for persistently fighting back.

The St. Brown conversion on third-and-long remains my favorite play from an incredible game. For me, this play sums up the entire game and serves as a kind of mini-summary of the entire season thus far. The Lions have been excellent at finishing games out and making plays when they are leading. Though they would later allow the Bucs to get back into the game, the Lions would not have gone up 31-17 without this conversion. What a fantastic effort by St. Brown and a perfectly timed pass from Jared Goff.
