Breaking News: It is going to be hard this time, snooker officials amends some rules.

While Bingham has the opportunity to appeal, this is a hefty punishment that will keep him out of three of the most profitable events on the calendar: the International Championship, the UK Championship, and the Masters.

A well-known figure rated tenth in the world, he previously claimed he was unaware of the regulations that banned him from wagering on other players’ matches.

And, while there is no evidence of corruption, his ban is a reminder from snooker’s governing body that it would not tolerate violations of its betting regulations.

Joe Perry received a suspended three-month penalty in July for betting on roughly 200 matches. Perry stated that he did it “purely out of boredom or distraction”.

In 2009-10, he bet £424.44 on snooker with an account in his name, losing £280.20.

In 2012-13, he staked £20 on snooker through an account in his name, all of which were losing bets.

He gambled on snooker matches he was participating in using his manager’s account. There were 36 matches between 2003 and 2015, totaling £4,636.

Between August 25, 2009 until January 11, 2017, he gambled on snooker with an account under his manager’s name.

Between January 1, 2012, until January 11, 2017, he gambled on snooker using a separate account under his manager’s name.

A second party made bets on Stuart Bingham’s direct or indirect benefit .
