Thilo Kehrer, a defender for West Ham United, has agreed to terms on a loan-to-buy agreement and is currently having a medical at Monaco, sources have told Football Insider.
It is thought that David Moyes has given the 27-year-old the go-ahead to travel to France and finalize the transfer.
Kehrer will first sign with the Ligue 1 team on loan until the end of the current campaign, with Monaco having the option to buy him long-term in the summer.
The clubs have reached a complete agreement, which is currently being finalized.
In the summer of 2022, the German international signed a four-year contract with West Ham for an estimated £10.1 million. He had previously played for Paris Saint-Germain.
Since then, he has made 50 appearances for the Hammers, but after just playing 18 minutes in the Premier League this season, he has dropped down the hierarchy.
Kehrer has played just 391 minutes across all competitions this season, despite making three starts for the Hammers in their Europa League group stage campaign.
Having made eight games, including starting both semi-final legs and substituting in the final, he was crucial to West Ham’s thrilling Europa Conference League victory the previous season.
Following their 0-0 draw with Brighton on Tuesday, January 2, West Ham is currently ranked sixth in the Premier League. On Sunday, January 7, they will host Bristol City at the London Stadium for the FA Cup.
