Jadon Sancho, an England attacker, is supposedly close to joining Borussia Dortmund after leaving Manchester United.
The clubs have agreed on a loan agreement for the 23-year-old Sancho until the end of the season, with only a few minor details left to be settled, according to a report published by German tabloid Bild on Thursday.
Dortmund planned to pay roughly $3.3 million for the loan, according to Bild.
After losing United coach Erik ten Haag’s favor, Sancho has only made three league substitution appearances this year. He last performed in August.
In 2021, Sancho paid $100 million to transfer from Dortmund to United. In 59 games in the English Premier League, he has nine goals.
Prior to this, Sancho was a four-year sensation at Dortmund, where he scored 50 goals in 137 games of competition. In 2017, he moved from Manchester City to the German team.
This season, Dortmund has shown mixed results. It may have overachieved in the Champions League by winning a group that included Newcastle, AC Milan, and Paris Saint-Germain, but it has been disappointing in the Bundesliga, where it has lost its last four games. The squad is already 15 points behind league leader Bayer Leverkusen after 16 rounds.
Dortmund failed to win any of their final six games in all competitions as 2023 came to an end.
Sancho has made 23 appearances for England and has three goals.
