On Wednesday, head coach Kevin Stefanski might elaborate on the Browns’ intentions to rest some starters this coming weekend. Before the team’s virtually meaningless meeting with the Cincinnati Bengals, general manager Andrew Berry and his staff are still working to add depth in a number of crucial places.

Titans Guard Rodger Saffold Named to Pro Bowl - rta.com.co

Roger Saffold, a former guard with the Jets, has joined Cleveland’s practice squad. Saffold was dismissed on Tuesday after spending the most of the season with New York’s practice squad.

The 35-year-old started his career with the Rams as a second-round pick in 2010 and has since been traded to multiple other clubs.

Having played for that team for nine seasons, he then spent three seasons with the Titans from 2019 to 2021, followed by a season with the Bills in 2022 that ended with his second career Pro Bowl selection. The first occurred during his last season with the Titans, one season earlier.

In addition to his two Pro Bowl nominations, Saffold had one career Second-Team All-Pro selection. While he was still with Los Angeles, he received that accolade in 2017. Saffold was raised in Bedford, Ohio, thus it’s true that he’s from Cleveland.

Now that his hometown team has the No. 5 seed heading into the playoffs in a few weekends, he will have the chance to contribute to the squad.

First things first, though, Saffold should have a chance to make an impact right away this weekend as the Browns attempt to avoid any serious injuries to important players ahead of their road game against Cincinnati.
