REAPORT: Ronnie O’Sullivan has withdrawn from the World Snooker Tour Classic.

Ronnie O’Sullivan, a seven-time winner, suffered an elbow injury less than four weeks prior to the World Snooker Championship.

Hours before he was scheduled to play David Grace in Leicester for the second round of the World Snooker Tour Classic, the 47-year-old withdrew from the event on Sunday.

In the opening round, O’Sullivan defeated Mohamed Ibrahim of Egypt 4-2.

“Really disappointed but had to pull out due to an elbow injury,” he posted on Twitter, external.

“To be back asap” is O’Sullivan’s stated goal.

The World Championship is held in Sheffield’s Crucible from April 15–May 1.

In 2022, O’Sullivan captured his seventh title and became the oldest victor of the tournament by defeating Judd Trump 18–13 in the championship match, matching Stephen Hendry’s record from the modern era.
