**Real Salt Lake Suspends Cristian Arango for Two Matches**

Real Salt Lake has announced a two-match suspension for forward Cristian Arango following an incident during the team’s recent MLS fixture. The decision, which was confirmed by the club on August 11, 2024, comes as a result of Arango’s conduct during last weekend’s match against the Seattle Sounders.

In a statement released by the team, Real Salt Lake condemned the actions that led to the suspension, emphasizing their commitment to upholding sportsmanship and respect on the field. The club did not specify the exact nature of the incident, but sources suggest that Arango was involved in a contentious exchange with match officials and opposing players, which escalated to a level deemed unacceptable by league standards.

Arango will miss the upcoming games against LAFC and FC Dallas as a result of the suspension. This will be a significant setback for Real Salt Lake, who are currently in a tight race for a playoff spot in the Western Conference. The Colombian forward has been a key player for the team this season, contributing crucial goals and assists.

In response to the suspension, Arango expressed regret for his actions. “I want to apologize to my teammates, the coaching staff, and our fans,” Arango said. “I recognize that my behavior was unacceptable, and I’m committed to making amends and focusing on supporting the team in any way I can during my absence.”

Real Salt Lake head coach Pablo Mastroeni acknowledged the impact of Arango’s suspension but underscored the importance of maintaining discipline. “We need to move forward and ensure that we remain focused on our goals,” Mastroeni said. “We have full confidence in our squad to step up during Cristian’s absence and continue fighting for a playoff spot.”

The team will look to adjust their lineup as they prepare for the critical upcoming matches without their star forward.
