Kyle Larson has landed another new teammate for 2025
In May 2024, Kyle Larson set out to become the fifth driver in history to complete the Memorial Day Double. His objective was to compete in the Indianapolis 500 for IndyCar at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, then take a plane to Charlotte Motor Speedway to compete in the Coca-Cola 600 for NASCAR.
Larson did ultimately compete in the Indianapolis 500, but his trip to Charlotte was delayed by rain at Indianapolis, and by the time he arrived, the race had been called off again because of the inclement weather. Larson became the second driver to have his Memorial Day Double attempt end with a finish in just one of the two crown jewel races after it was unable to restart.
The 2021 Cup Series winner has not yet said that he will compete in the “Greatest Spectacle in Racing” again in 2025, but it is said that he has an agreement with Arrow McLaren to do so because of a two-year contract he signed back in January 2023.
Ironically, he will be the second-longest serving driver of the four-car team if he decides to take the wheel of the No. 17 McLaren-Hendrick Chevrolet once more.
Arrow McLaren confirms the addition of another driver.
Theo Pourchaire was supposed to drive the No. 6 Chevrolet for the remainder of the season, but he signed a multi-year contract, so Nolan Siegel recently took over. It has now been confirmed that the No. 7 Chevrolet will have another driver change.
The 2016 Indianapolis 500 winner Alexander Rossi will be replaced by current Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing driver Christian Lundgaard in 2017 after just two seasons with the team.
Rossi qualified in the highest starting position of all non-Team Penske drivers and finished in fourth place this year, matching his team-high fifth place finish from last year’s Indianapolis 500. Neither his 2025 squad nor Lundgaard’s replacement at the wheel of the No. 45 Honda have been confirmed.
With the exception of Larson, Pato O’Ward, who has been driving the No. 5 Chevrolet since 2020, is the only driver scheduled to return to Arrow McLaren for the upcoming season. In this year’s Indianapolis 500, Callum Ilott drove the No. 6 Chevrolet, taking the place of the injured
