“BEST NEWS WE COULD WANT”: NEW PANTHERS CEO HILL ANNOUNCES RECORD STADIUM REDEVELOPMENT

Penrith Panthers fans and players have been left stunned and elated as newly appointed CEO Andrew Hill has announced plans for a record-status stadium renovation to be completed at the end of the 2026 season, vowing to make the club and its community “happy and proud”.

The ambitious announcement marks a major milestone for the Panthers, coming just months after Hill took up his position as CEO of the Panthers Group in late 2025. Tasked with overseeing the leagues clubs, conference centre, and supporting the club’s successful NRL operations, Hill has wasted no time in outlining his vision for the organization’s future, with the stadium project set to redefine the Penrith sporting landscape.

Hill brings extensive experience in sports administration to the role, having previously led the PNG NRL bid and held key positions at Canterbury Bulldogs. His focus at Penrith is centered on business growth and club leadership, building on the team’s recent on-field success to ensure long-term stability and expansion across all areas of the organization.

“This is the best news our fans could have been expecting – we’re committing to a stadium redevelopment that will set a new standard for sports facilities in Australia,” Hill said in a special address to members today. “We want to give our players a world-class home ground and provide our supporters with an unforgettable match-day experience. My promise to every Panthers fan and player is that we will build something we can all be happy and proud of for generations to come.”

While specific details of the redevelopment are yet to be revealed, Hill confirmed the project will be delivered at record status, with significant investment aimed at enhancing seating capacity, improving fan amenities, and incorporating modern facilities to support both sporting and community events. The timeline will see construction commence immediately following the 2026 NRL season, minimizing disruption to the team’s campaign.

The announcement has been met with overwhelming positivity from the Penrith community, with players expressing excitement about the prospect of a revitalized home ground as they chase further premiership success. Panthers NRL coach Ivan Cleary welcomed the news, stating: “Having a stadium that matches our team’s ambition is incredible for our players and shows the club is committed to being a leader both on and off the field.”

Hill emphasized that the redevelopment is part of a broader strategy to strengthen the Panthers Group’s position as a pillar of the Western Sydney community, leveraging his expertise to drive growth across all business arms while maintaining the club’s winning culture. As plans move forward, the Panthers organization is poised to enter a new chapter of success, built on a foundation of strong leadership and investment in its future.
