PANTHERS FAREWELL: SCHNEIDER SENDS EMOTIONAL MESSAGE AS DOLPHINS DEAL CONFIRMED

Penrith Panthers fans are rushing to absorb the latest news as premiership-winning halfback Brad Schneider has officially signed a one-year deal with the Dolphins for the 2026 NRL season – and he’s left them with a heartfelt farewell message.

The 24-year-old, who will join the Dolphins for pre-season in November following the conclusion of Penrith’s 2025 campaign, took to social media to express his gratitude to the club and its supporters, calling his time in western Sydney “the most incredible chapter of my career so far.”

“To the Panthers family – words can’t explain how much you’ve meant to me,” Schneider wrote in his emotional note. “From running out at BlueBet Stadium with the roar of the crowd behind us, to lifting the trophy in 2024 alongside some of the best players in the game – these moments will stay with me forever. Thank you for embracing this country kid and making me feel at home.”

A skilled playmaker renowned for his elite kicking game and composed presence on the field, Schneider has been a valuable asset to the Panthers since joining ahead of the 2024 season, serving as understudy to champion halfback Nathan Cleary while making 12 appearances this year alone. He was part of Penrith’s historic fourth consecutive premiership win in 2024, contributing to the side’s dominant run to the title.

Dolphins CEO Terry Reader hailed the signing as a key addition to the club’s roster, highlighting Schneider’s big-game experience. “Brad brings a winning mentality and proven kicking ability that will strengthen our halves options,” Reader said. “His time with the Panthers and his 2023 semi-final run with Hull Kingston Rovers in the Super League show he can perform on the biggest stages.”

Originally from Adelaide and a product of Townsville’s Kirwan State High, Schneider also shares a past with Dolphins fullback Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow, with whom he won a national schoolboy final – a connection that is sure to ease his transition to the Brisbane-based side.
