TRANSFER RUMOUR MILL: UNDAV LINKED WITH MILAN, EVERTON PUSHED FOR DEAL BEFORE STUTTGART EXTENSION

Germany international Deniz Undav remains the subject of widespread speculation, with reports linking the 29-year-old striker to AC Milan, while Everton FC confirmed they dispatched their sporting director to negotiate a transfer fee before the forward committed his future to VfB Stuttgart.

Undav put pen to paper on a new contract running until June 2029 earlier this month, but it has now emerged that the period leading up to his extension was filled with serious interest from across Europe. Everton held direct talks with the player and his representatives, with the club’s sporting director travelling to Germany to finalise terms and agree a valuation with Stuttgart’s hierarchy. The Premier League side viewed Undav as the ideal addition to their attack, having tracked his consistent form in the Bundesliga.

Parallel to those discussions, AC Milan opened a direct line of communication with Undav’s camp. The Rossoneri began exploring potential transfer figures and salary structures, seeing him as a proven, experienced striker capable of competing in Serie A and European competitions. Though talks never reached advanced stages, the contact was enough to fuel rumours of a summer switch to San Siro.

Undav also had several other suitors. AS Roma and newly promoted Como 1907 both registered interest, while unnamed clubs from Spain and Saudi Arabia submitted informal enquiries, drawn by his record of 25 goals and 14 assists across 46 appearances in 2025–26.

Ultimately, the striker opted to extend his stay in Stuttgart, citing family comfort and the club’s Champions League ambitions as decisive. While the transfer talk has cooled for now, the wide interest confirms his standing as one of the most sought-after forwards in European football.
