Magpies Secure Buller in Trade with Swans

In a final-day trade during the Continental Tyres Trade Period, Collingwood has successfully acquired key forward Jack Buller from the Sydney Swans. The deal brings the 24-year-old to the AIA Vitality Centre, bolstering the Magpies’ forward line.

Collingwood receives Buller and a fourth-round pick in the 2026 draft, while Sydney gains a third-round pick in 2026. Buller, who stands at 199cm, has played 10 AFL games over three seasons, with nine of those appearances occurring in 2025. This season, he showcased his scoring ability with 11 goals, including a standout performance in Round 24 against West Coast, where he booted three goals.

Buller was originally drafted by the Swans in the 2023 Mid-Season Draft from the Claremont Football Club in Western Australia. Known for his strong marking ability and versatility, Buller can also provide support in the ruck, making him a valuable addition to Collingwood’s squad.

Justin Leppitsch, Collingwood’s General Manager of List and Talent Strategy, expressed his enthusiasm about the acquisition. “We are thrilled to welcome Jack Buller to the Club,” Leppitsch said. “He is a tall forward with excellent marking skills and accuracy in front of goal. His high-pressure and competitive style, especially for a tall player, were key attributes that attracted us.”

Leppitsch added, “Jack has a bright future ahead of him, and we are excited to see how he develops with the support of our Club.”

The Continental Tyres AFL Trade Period, which began on Monday, October 6, concludes today at 7.30pm, with Collingwood making a strategic move to strengthen their forward options for the upcoming seasons.
