Wolves Eye Yuri Alberto as Pereira’s Top Target

Wolverhampton Wanderers are reportedly intensifying their pursuit of Brazilian forward Yuri Alberto, with manager Vitor Pereira personally advocating for his arrival in the January transfer window. The Corinthians striker has emerged as a key target for Wolves, who are eager to bolster their attacking options after a lackluster scoring record in the Premier League this season.

Pereira’s strong interest is seen as a major driving force behind the potential transfer, with the Portuguese coach convinced that Alberto can provide the clinical edge his team desperately needs.

According to sources in South America, Pereira has directly urged the Wolves management to secure Alberto’s signature. The 24-year-old has impressed with his performances in Brazil, netting 15 goals and providing two assists in 45 appearances this season. His goal-scoring prowess and versatility have made him a standout player in the Brasileirão.

Wolves previously expressed interest in Alberto in 2024, with a loan offer that included an option to buy. However, the deal did not materialize at the time. Pereira’s arrival and his determination to bring Alberto to Molineux could revive negotiations and lead to a successful transfer this time around.

The need for attacking reinforcements is evident for Wolves, who have struggled to find the back of the net consistently this season. The team’s lack of goals has been a major concern, and Alberto’s arrival would provide much-needed competition and support for current forwards Jorgen Strand Larsen and Tolu Arokodare.

Pereira’s personal backing of the deal underscores the importance of Alberto to Wolves’ plans. The Brazilian striker is viewed as a priority signing who can significantly improve the team’s attacking capabilities and help them climb the Premier League table.
