Arias Confident His Best is Yet to Come at Wolves

Jhon Arias, the Colombian international who joined Wolverhampton Wanderers last summer, has expressed his confidence that his “best version is coming” after a measured start to his Premier League career. The winger, who signed a four-year deal at Molineux from Brazilian side Fluminense, acknowledges the challenges of adapting to the English top-flight but believes he is steadily progressing under the guidance of manager Vitor Pereira.

While Arias is yet to register a goal or assist in his first six Premier League appearances, he has shown glimpses of his potential, particularly in Wolves’ recent 1-1 draw with Tottenham Hotspur and their EFL Cup victory over Everton. These performances have instilled a sense of optimism in the player, who is eager to make a more significant impact as the season progresses.

Ahead of Wolves’ final match before the October international break, a home fixture against Brighton & Hove Albion, Arias conveyed his thoughts on the differences between the Premier League and his previous experiences. “It’s different. Different intensity, the duels, I think it is very different,” Arias told the official Wolves website. He also noted the challenges posed by the weather and the need to adapt to a new language and culture.

Despite these adjustments, Arias remains positive. “So, for me, I know it’s normal, the adaptation to this league, to this country, the language, but I feel better and I am going the correct way,” he affirmed. His growing comfort within the team and understanding of the coach’s tactical approach are key factors driving his confidence. “I feel better with the team, with the ideas of the coach. I think my best version is coming and it’s important for me,” Arias stated.

The Colombian international emphasized the importance of recent improvements in his performances, noting that he feels increasingly connected with his teammates and attuned to the demands of the league. “I think in the last week, I feel I’m playing better with my teammates, with the league. It’s a different league, so I’m still working to be better, for better performances, and to help my team,” he explained.

Arias’s determination to improve and contribute more significantly to Wolves’ success will be welcomed by fans and the coaching staff alike. As he continues to acclimatize to the Premier League’s unique challenges, his confidence and commitment suggest that his “best version” may indeed be on the horizon. Wolves supporters will be hoping that this potential translates into tangible results on the pitch, helping the team achieve its goals this season.
