The Pittsburgh Steelers are reportedly gaining trade interest for Diontae Johnson, their starting wide receiver.

The Pittsburgh Steelers are considering trading wide receiver Diontae Johnson this offseason and have interest from several other teams, according to The Athletic’s Dianna Russini. The Steelers are “listening” to offers from other teams as they prepare for the free agency market, following reports that Johnson may want to leave Pittsburgh.

Johnson is nearing the end of his contract and it’s unlikely he will receive a new deal. The team will likely continue with George Pickens, who is a rising star, after Johnson’s departure.
The Pittsburgh Steelers’ 2024 NFL offseason primer reveals their upcoming QB role.

The Pittsburgh Steelers’ 2023 season was a mixed affair, with a 10-7 record and a loss in the wild card round. Despite not being a great team, they managed to win many close games and make the playoffs. The team struggled with quarterback Kenny Pickett, who was mostly ineffective until an ankle injury in Week 13. Backup Mason Rudolph had some positive moments but did not fit the role of a franchise quarterback. The team needs to make a big swing at quarterback and has interest in Russell Wilson. Despite this, the Steelers are in good hands under Mike Tomlin, who has never had a losing season in 17 years as head coach.

Pittsburgh’s cornerbacks, Levi Wallace and Mason Rudolph, are reportedly in or out of free agency. Wallace’s potential departure highlights the need for talent addition in the cornerback room. Rudolph, who started Pittsburgh’s playoff game, played well and is interested in joining a new team in 2024.
