Devin Booker sustained a right ankle injury during the Phoenix Suns’ loss.

Devin Booker sprained his right ankle during the Phoenix Suns’ 118-109 loss to the Houston Rockets, and X-rays were negative. Suns coach Frank Vogel did not rule Booker out of Sunday’s game against the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Suns guard Booker sustained an injury in a game with teammate Royce O’Neale, causing him to limp off the court. O’Neale also sustained a sprained right ankle. The Suns lost center Jusuf Nurkic with a sprained neck in the second quarter, but were cleared for a concussion. Nurkic was also injured by a teammate, Josh Okogie. Suns guard Bradley Beal was ejected in his return to the lineup after missing five games with a hamstring injury.

The Rockets defeated the Suns in a game that was dominated by Jalen Green, who scored 34 points and Fred VanVleet added 24 for the team. Green hit six 3-pointers, while Kevin Durant led the Suns with 30 points. Alperen Sengun added 21 points and 10 rebounds. The Rockets led for most of the game, but the Suns cut it to 99-98 in the fourth quarter. VanVleet responded with a 3-pointer to turn back the rally. Rockets coach Ime Udoka praised the physicality of the team, which was evident from the start of the game. The Rockets jumped out on the Suns.
