Ohio State Gets Good News From No. 1 Ranked Star

The Ohio State Buckeyes are prepared to overcome the loss of starting safety Lathan Ransom in 2025. Ohio State has three safeties returning from its national championship roster.

2025 4-star recruit Faheem Delane will also supplemented the back end of Ohio State’s secondary.

But the Buckeyes are still pursuing another high-level safety prospect in Blaine Bradford for the 2026 college football recruiting class. On Friday, On3.com’s Steve Wiltfong reported Bradford has scheduled an official June visit for Columbus.

The safety also told Wiltfong he will attend Buckeyes spring practices on March 29 and 31.Wiltfong called the scheduled trips to Columbus “crucial” to Bradford’s recruiting process.

The safety also has a June visit scheduled for the LSU Tigers.

On3.com has Bradford ranked as the No. 1 safety in the 2026 recruiting class. He’s also the top safety on the 247Sports composite rankings.

Bradford shared that he is excited to talk in detail to both Ohio State and LSU about how he potentially fits into their football programs.

“My favorite things about OSU are the culture, the coaches and how they can guide my future,” Bradford told Wiltfong.

Bradford attends Catholic High School in Baton Rouge, La. The 247Sports composite rankings rated Bradford the No. 2 recruit in Louisiana for the 2026 class.
