Notre Dame RB Jeremiyah Love Reveals Injury Status for National Championship Game.

The Notre Dame Fighting Irish have their work cut out against No. 8 Ohio State in Monday’s College Football Playoff National Championship game.

Fortunately for Notre Dame, it got good news about one of its top injured offensive stars coming off its last-second 27-24 win over No. 6 Penn State in the Orange Bowl last week.

In that victory, sophomore running back Jeremiyah Love rushed 11 times for just 46 yards and a touchdown because of a knee injury from the regular-season finale against USC that he reaggravated against Penn State.

But heading into Notre Dame’s biggest game of the season, it appears Love has no limitations.

“I’m good, I’m 100%,” Love told On3 on Saturday. “I’m ready to go. It’s been a challenge. But if it ain’t hard, it ain’t good. I’ve been just going along with the ride. I feel like God’s got me. I got my complete trust in this team.”

Love was limited to just six carries and 19 yards in the Irish’s 23-10 win over No. 2 Georgia two weeks ago in the College Football Playoff quarterfinals. The week before that, however, he ripped off a 98-yard touchdown run in Notre Dame’s 27-17 win over No. 10 Indiana in its CFP first-round matchup.

Love leads Notre Dame with 1,22 yards rushing and 17 touchdowns, and he plays a key role as a receiver out of the backfield as well, adding 26 catches, 232 yards and two more touchdowns through the air.

Ohio State has the top defense in the country — one that surrenders just 251.1 yards of total offense, 89.9 yards of rushing offense, and 12.2 points per game — and taking down the Buckeyes, who ripped through No. 1 Oregon, No. 5 Texas, and No. 9 Tennessee, without Love would be a daunting task for Notre Dame.
