Tottenham Hotspur FC have agreed a four-year contract with French defender Leny Yoro from FC Lille, with the 18-year-old set to undergo a medical ahead of his move to North London. The deal is expected to be one of the first major signings of the January transfer window for Spurs, as they look to strengthen their defensive options.

Yoro, who is considered one of the brightest young talents in French football, has impressed scouts with his performances for Lille in Ligue 1. The left-footed center-back is known for his composure on the ball, strong aerial presence, and leadership qualities, which have made him a key figure in Lille’s defense since his breakthrough into the first team.

Tottenham, under manager Ange Postecoglou, have been looking to add to their squad for the second half of the season. With injuries affecting their defensive depth and the need for long-term options, Yoro represents a significant investment in the club’s future. Spurs are reportedly paying a substantial fee to secure the teenager’s services, with additional performance-related bonuses potentially increasing the overall value of the deal.

The medical will take place in the coming days, and if successful, Yoro will join the squad immediately, though he may initially spend time adapting to English football and competing for a spot in the first team. Tottenham’s defensive options currently include experienced players like Cristian Romero, Eric Dier, and Micky van de Ven, but Yoro’s arrival could push for rotation and competition for a starting role.

Yoro’s move to the Premier League marks another step in his rapid development, and Tottenham fans will be eager to see if he can continue his upward trajectory in one of the world’s most competitive leagues. Spurs hope he will add depth and youthful energy to their backline for years to come.
