“Weary!”? Micah Parsons of the Dallas Cowboys Responds to DeMarcus Lawrence’s “Burnt-Out” Remark Micah Parsons feels that the team need to have played with greater vigor during the club’s playoff defeat to the Green Bay Packers.
Due to their most recent playoff disappointment, the Dallas Cowboys are already facing a lot of criticism; sadly, defensive end DeMarcus Lawrence ignited the flame.
Lawrence stated during an appearance on ESPN’s First Take earlier this month that the Cowboys’ defeat to the Green Bay Packers in the Wild Card Round was primarily due to “burnout.” Many jumped on Lawrence’s response, citing the fact that the Cowboys played the same number of games as every other team and that the Packers had forced them to play behind a woodshed in that particular game.
It appears that “Tank”‘s response didn’t sit well with anyone within the company.
Star defender Micah Parsons recently stated on The Stephen A. Smith Show that he anticipates his team to play with more passion.
“I think you should get refreshed once the regular season is over and they qualify for the playoffs,” Parsons remarked. Like, you and I are completely different now. We must prepare; this is a component of the cultural issues I described before, in which I want to focus on the individuals who need to adapt. Never enter a game with the mindset, “I’m tired.” I’m eager to get home. For that is precisely what is going to occur, and it did.
“I approach the game with the mindset that I have four weeks remaining.” I have four more weeks left, but I don’t know what the rest of you have.
According to our Mike Fisher, Lawrence “would like a mulligan” in this situation, meaning that he couldn’t have meant what he said at the time. (Again, how did the Chiefs, the victors of the Super Bowl, find the energy to play and win four playoff games if they were “tired” after just one?)
A lot of talk has been made regarding the Cowboys’ “soft” culture or “culture issue.” Parsons acknowledges that reform is necessary even if he doesn’t believe the issue is that serious.
The Cowboys should always be playing with a fire now that they’ve hired the notoriously strict defensive coordinator Mike Zimmer, and being “tired” is no excuse for getting “fired.”
