BattleHawks | St. Louis expecting nearly 30k at first home game | ksdk.com

Crowds for the St. Louis XFL team are unbelievable.

The city is enthralled with the St. Louis Battlehawks.

Being a proud sports community, St. Louis’s loss of the Rams to Los Angeles struck supporters in the region like a blow to the gut.

The Rams’ victory in the Super Bowl two seasons ago probably made the hurt much deeper. Again, the wonderful folks there have their heart set on a football team, even though it’s in the XFL.

Even while the XFL is by no means as popular as the NFL, fans have shown a strong interest in the league—none more so than the Battlehawks.

This past weekend, following a victory over the Vegas Vipers, it was shown on the broadcast that the Battlehawks hold the three highest attended games in XFL history.

There were more than 35,000 fans in attendance on Saturday night at the Battlehawks’ home field, despite the fact that it was Easter weekend and many people were busy. Only two games had more spectators: week four, which drew 38,310, and week five, which drew 35,868.

The St. Louis Battlehawks are adored by XFL supporters.
The Battlehawks have drawn an average of almost 36,400 spectators to The Dome at America’s Center over the course of the three highest attended games in XFL history.

According to Yahoo, for instance, that is nearly precisely the same amount of supporters that TCU, UCLA, Indiana, and UCF have averaged over the last few years.

Although no XFL club will be as successful as an NFL team, the Battlehawks’ comparison to some of the most illustrious college football programs is fantastic for both the team and the community.

That is clearly not the situation across the XFL, though. The Battlehawks are drawing incredible crowds, while the Vegas Vipers appear to be a small league club from the neighborhood.

It is obvious that not everyone exudes the same enthusiasm and vigor.

With a 6-2 record and the support of the community, St. Louis football is officially back on track. You like watching it as a sports enthusiast.
