The Browns, who have started four different quarterbacks, have already finished 8-5 in the first 14 weeks of the season; the Bears and even the Giants have managed to re-enter the wild-card scenario; and the Chiefs, the defending champions, are finding it difficult to compete for the top seed in the AFC. “Joe Flacco and Jerome Ford are expected to lead the Browns offense to the postseason because they have had to cope with losing important players during the season. However, they are up against a patchwork offensive line that will be without its top three offensive tackles for the remainder of the season due to Ethan Pocic’s injury, while starting guard Joel Bitonio is still sidelined due to a knee problem. Maybe Flacco and company can succeed against weak defenses, like they did against the Jaguars last week, but the Bears defense has been solid for a big chunk of the season, allowing opponents to average only 271 yards per game over the previous eight games. As an example, the league’s best defense is the renowned Browns defense.
“Green Bay had its three-game winning streak snapped by Tommy DeVito and the Giants on Monday, but the Packers are set up to bounce back this week at home against the Buccaneers. Tampa Bay’s secondary is giving up 7.2 yards per pass attempt this season, which is tied for the third most in the league. They’ve also struggled to get off the field, ranking in the bottom third of the league on third down. At Lambeau Field, Jordan Love has a high completion percentage, passer rating, and averages roughly 40 more passing yards per game this season than he does on the road. “With Nico Collins and no Tank Dell, the Texans looked awful last week against the Jets, recording season-lows in total yards, points scored, and third-down conversions in their worst defeat of the year. Due to a concussion, we are still unsure if C.J. Stroud will be able to play, and Collins, Will Anderson Jr., Blake Cashman, George Fant, and Laremy Tunsil were all sidelined for practice on Wednesday. Tennessee, meantime, is 4-1 at home this season and sporting vintage Oilers gear!”

“Yes, the Patriots managed to pull off a convincing victory in Pittsburgh last week, and they do get a week off this week, but let’s not interpret that victory as a turning point in Foxborough. “With Tommy DeVito starting as quarterback, the Giants have won three consecutive games, but playing on the road in a hostile atmosphere will present significant challenges for both him and the offense. The Saints will win this one because they played better defense last week. Pete Prisco, a senior pundit for CBS Sports, doesn’t think New York can maintain its winning run while traveling. “The Falcons-Panthers total is 35, and there’s a good chance the Under will hit. Even when they’re not playing well, other offenses may score more points because the Panthers’ offense has been so awful. Consider the Saints from last week, who while averaging just four yards per play against Carolina, won 28-6 thanks to two successful offensive touchdown drives that they began in the Panthers’ end of the field and a blocked punt touchdown. The Panthers offense has been so awful that it wouldn’t be strange to see Carolina lose any game 13-3 or 10-0, even with their defense performing well over the past several weeks.”
