Chris Conley Officially Joins Arizona Cardinals
The Arizona Cardinals have made a significant move in their quest to strengthen their receiving corps, officially signing wide receiver Chris Conley, who was previously with the San Francisco 49ers. Conley, known for his athleticism and versatility, was a key figure in the 49ers’ roster during his tenure, and his acquisition is expected to provide a major boost to the Cardinals’ offense.
Conley, 31, brings a wealth of experience to Arizona’s wide receiver group. He was originally drafted by the Kansas City Chiefs in the third round of the 2015 NFL Draft and has played for multiple teams over his career, including the Jacksonville Jaguars, Houston Texans, and 49ers. Over his career, Conley has totaled over 2,400 receiving yards and 17 touchdowns, showcasing his ability to stretch the field and make big plays when needed.
The 6-foot-3, 213-pound receiver is known for his speed and athleticism, especially in contested catch situations. With the Cardinals looking to revamp their offense under head coach Jonathan Gannon, Conley’s presence adds depth and experience to a receiving room that has seen significant turnover in recent seasons.
While Conley is not expected to be a top target in the Cardinals’ offense, his ability to provide reliable depth and mentor younger wideouts could be invaluable, especially as the team continues to rebuild and transition into a new phase under Gannon. His ability to make plays both in the slot and on the outside gives the Cardinals more flexibility as they prepare for the upcoming season.
With Conley now officially part of the roster, the Cardinals are hoping that his veteran leadership and proven ability to make plays will help elevate their receiving group and contribute to their offensive success in 2024.
