Indiana Hoosiers Guard Myles Rice Announces Break-In at His Home
Indiana Hoosiers guard Myles Rice shared devastating news with fans and media today, revealing that his home was broken into earlier this week in what appears to be a targeted theft. Rice, who is in his sophomore season with the Hoosiers, took to social media to express his shock and frustration, describing the incident as “a personal violation.”
According to Rice, the break-in occurred while he was away attending team practice. The thieves managed to enter his residence, stealing several important items, including personal valuables and equipment. While Rice did not specify the exact items taken, he noted that the burglars also ransacked areas of his home that were particularly sentimental, including family heirlooms and memorabilia. The incident has understandably left him shaken.
“I can’t even begin to explain how violated I feel right now,” Rice wrote in a post on his Instagram account. “It’s more than just things, it’s personal, and it hurts. But I’m going to focus on staying positive and moving forward.”
Police are currently investigating the break-in, and authorities have advised Rice and others in the area to be vigilant. No arrests have been made as of yet, and it is unclear whether this was a random act or a targeted crime.
Hoosiers head coach Mike Woodson expressed his support for Rice, stating that the entire team is rallying behind the young guard. “This is a tough situation for Myles, and we’re all here for him,” Woodson said. “He’s been handling everything with a lot of maturity, and we know he’ll continue to stay focused on his basketball and his recovery.”
As of now, Rice is expected to play in the Hoosiers’ upcoming games, but it remains to be seen if the emotional toll of the incident will have any lasting effects on his performance.
