Fire Erupts at House of Irish Singer-Songwriter and Activist Bono
A fire broke out at the residence of Irish singer-songwriter and U2 frontman Bono early this morning, sending emergency responders rushing to the scene. The blaze, which reportedly started in the attic, caused substantial damage to parts of the home, though authorities have confirmed that Bono and his family were not at the house at the time.
Firefighters were called to the property just before 6 a.m. after receiving multiple reports of thick smoke emerging from the top of the mansion. Upon arrival, fire crews quickly contained the flames and worked for several hours to extinguish the fire, which was said to have spread to the roof and upper floors. No injuries have been reported, and no other properties were affected.
Bono, who was traveling for a planned engagement in Europe, expressed his gratitude for the quick response of local firefighters. “We are incredibly relieved that no one was harmed in the fire, and we are deeply thankful for the brave men and women who acted so quickly to contain it,” Bono said in a statement issued by his representatives. “Our thoughts are with everyone affected by the incident.”
The cause of the fire remains under investigation, though initial reports suggest it may have been an electrical fault. While the damage to the property is significant, Bono’s spokesperson confirmed that the singer and his family are safe and focused on repairing their home.
Bono, also known for his activism and philanthropic work, has received an outpouring of support from fans and colleagues worldwide. The singer, who has made headlines for his work with the ONE Campaign and humanitarian efforts, has yet to comment on whether the incident will affect his upcoming commitments.
More details will be released as investigations continue.
