Hajduk Split star sends three powerful messages to Molineux faithful

WOLVERHAMPTON – Wolverhampton Wanderers have announced a major midfield reinforcement, confirming they have officially agreed to a five-year pre-contract with Hajduk Split and Canadian national team midfielder Niko Sigur. According to Croatian outlet Index.hr, the 26-year-old has delivered three powerful messages to Wolves fans ahead of his summer 2026 arrival.

Sigur, who will join on a free transfer when his Hajduk contract expires, has established himself as one of the most consistent midfielders in the Croatian First Football League over the past three seasons. With 12 goals and 18 assists in 97 appearances for the Split-based club, he has also become a key figure for Canada, earning 19 caps and playing a pivotal role in their qualification for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

In a statement shared with Index.hr, Sigur addressed Wolves supporters directly with three core commitments:

“First, I want to make it clear that I come to Wolverhampton ready to work harder than anyone else. I know the demands of the Premier League and I have been preparing physically and technically for this challenge every single day. I will not take this opportunity for granted.”

“Second, I understand what this club means to its fans – the passion, the tradition and the pride you have in wearing gold and black. I will give everything on the pitch to represent these colours with honour and fight for every point, just as you would expect from one of your own.”

“Third, I want to contribute to building something special here. Wolves have a clear vision for developing young, hungry talent and playing attractive football. I am not here just to make up the numbers – I want to help this team push up the table and compete for major honours in the years to come.”

Wolves sporting director Matt Hobbs hailed the signing as a strategic addition to the squad. “Niko is a player we have monitored closely for two seasons,” said Hobbs. “His versatility to operate as a box-to-box midfielder or in a more creative role, combined with his leadership qualities and international experience, make him the perfect fit for our project.”

The five-year deal will keep Sigur at Molineux until June 2031, with the club including performance-based bonuses and a significant release clause to protect their investment. He will remain with Hajduk Split until the end of the current campaign to help them in their pursuit of the Croatian league title and UEFA Europa Conference League progression.
